Who we are

SmartGrid Western LLC designs, funds, installs, and manages Battery Energy Storage Systems for commercial and multifamily properties. SmartGrid Western LLC is the data controller responsible for the information described in this policy.

Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us. When you submit an assessment request, we collect:

• Your name and business email address
• Your company or property-owner name
• Property type, approximate size, and location
• Whether the property has scheduled spikes in usage
• Anything else you write in the message field

If you go on to request a detailed assessment, we will also ask for utility billing data and, where available, site plans or one-line electrical diagrams. We use these solely to model the energy and financial performance of your property.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site — which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are located, and which links lead to assessment requests. This data is collected in aggregate and is not used to build advertising profiles or to identify you personally. See Cookies below for how to opt out.

How we use it

• To respond to your enquiry and contact you about an assessment
• To analyse your property's energy profile and prepare a proposal
• To keep records of proposals and projects we have worked on

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Who we share it with

We share information only where it is necessary to deliver the service:

• FormSubmit — our website contact form is delivered by formsubmit.co, which processes the form submission and forwards it to us by email.
• UtilityAPI — if you choose to authorize automatic bill retrieval, UtilityAPI connects to your utility account on our behalf to retrieve your billing and usage history. This step is optional; you may instead send bills to us directly.
• Google Analytics — Google processes aggregate usage data (pages viewed, approximate location, referring links, device type) on our behalf so we can measure and improve the site.
• Our hosting provider — this website is hosted on GoDaddy, whose servers process standard web-server logs including IP addresses.
• Google Fonts — typefaces are loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address as part of that request.
• Engineering and operating partners — including Ranial Systems, where analysing or operating a system requires it.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets a small number of first-party cookies (names beginning _ga) to tell repeat visits apart and measure how the site is used. These cookies do not contain your name or contact details, and we have configured the property not to share the data with Google for advertising.

You can opt out in any of these ways: block or delete cookies in your browser settings; use a browser or extension that blocks analytics; or install Google's official Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works normally either way.

Two other third parties may record technical information or set their own cookies when they deliver part of the site: our host, GoDaddy, which includes a performance-monitoring script on pages it serves, and Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when typefaces are loaded. Both are governed by their own policies.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and assessment information for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain records of work performed. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or ask us to stop contacting you. Email info@smartgridwestern.com and we will action the request.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information you share with us. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information through the website contact form.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date.
